Life throws dilemmas at us all the time - from big personal choices, to making sense of world events, to finding joy and harmony in every minute of every day.
We have a choice all the time - to allow ourselves to be pulled along by the tide, keep spinning in the hamster-wheel, or to step into our own lives and find a deeper sense of purpose and meaning.
This takes courage, openness, and a powerful sense of integration. How can it be done??
The beautiful yoga text, the Bhagavad Gita, is a guide to finding ourselves amongst the messiness of the world. In the face of good and bad, apathy, violence, and disconnection, there is a path and a practice that helps us to see clearly, to know ourselves and how we fit into it all.
This four week course at Merchant City Yoga will unpack the central themes of this central yogic text which is both mystical and practical - precisely because it holds the vastness of the world within it.
We’ll read the verses, pose questions, use our own life experience to unfold the teachings of the text through discussion, connection, and play.
You’ll receive exercises and inquiry prompts for your own exploration, to take the tools and insights of the text away into your daily life.
No prior experience of yoga philosophy or textual study is required! Come as you are - whether you are a yoga practitioner, teacher, or just curious - all human beings will get so much from this course.
We meet on four consecutive weeks in May 2024 - Sunday 5th until 26th May. Join us for all four weeks, or drop in to individual sessions.
Week 1 - The World - on understanding the vastness of influences out there and how they touch us.
Week 2 - Living - on action, karma, and knowing what you’re doing
Week 3 - Dharma - finding our purpose, and fitting into the big picture
Week 4 - Non-attachment, peace, and the meaning of action.
It’s £105 for the full course, and £29 for each drop-in session.
